Carlota AMARGÓS RUBIÓ
Carlota is a passionate and multifaceted woman who loves taking care of every aspect of Life. Being a classical violinist for more than 30 years she developed a sense for art, refinement and fine tuning that reflects in everything she does.
With more than half a decade of experience teaching yoga, running conscious events and leading ceremonies around the World, she now knows that her life mission can be completed and taken to the next level at Amara Valley. Cooking and serving delicious and nutritious food is one of her gifts and she aims to spark the curiosity for healthy vegetarian food to all those coming to try her cuisine.
CO-FOUNDER & RETREAT MANAGER
MORGAN PALMER HUBBARD
Hailing from Aotearoa-New Zealand, Morgan’s path took him around the world, from the ashrams of Rishikesh to the alkaline sands of Burning Man, from the souks of Morocco to the jungles of Ecuador. Finally making his home for the past decade in Barcelona, he has co-founded numerous yoga and wellness projects.
He brings his experience as a retreat leader, events co-ordinator and yoga teacher to this new project, as Director and Retreat Manager. Understanding the needs of the groups coming to Amara, he looks forward to helping each one create unique, deep and rich experiences here.
A technologist and entrepreneur, Arjun loves exploring how advanced technology can help individuals and teams be their best.
He has enabled Amara Valley to blossom into being, and helps co-ordinate the high-level functioning of the project.
He is also a proud “father” to his canine baby, Bijlee Beyoncé.
Eve is a mushroom lover who believes in the power of food as medicine. She loves to create new dishes while adding colours and joy to everything she makes. After working for 5 years in different restaurants and running her own catering service for yoga studios in Barcelona, Eve has finally rooted herself in the Amara adventure to help innovate with the kitchen team. You will probably find her writing her thoughts out in her journal, or in the kitchen being the best chef she can be.
‘Feeding hearts’ is what defines the intention of Marleen. She expresses all her love with carefully prepared and nutritious food for body & soul. She loves to transform nature’s freshest and most generous ingredients into pleasurable experiences. Sharing her knowledge about food gives her great joy and if you are interested in learning you might find yourself in one of her cooking workshops one day! Marleen is a former chef at the multi-award winning wellness retreat Aro-Hā in New Zealand. She is also trained as a professional beauty therapist and knows how to create sacred spaces for her shamanic facial ceremonies.
Yogini for over a decade and more recently a passionate explorer of Ecstatic Dance, Free Dance & Advaita Meditation. Adventurous, enterprising, daring, a global traveller and free spirit, she is always ready to share new experiences and life learnings. In recent years she has dedicated herself to directing yoga retreats in Menorca and Ecstatic Dance retreats in Zaragoza. A lifelong food lover, she has been part of the Amara Valley kitchen team for 7months.
Nutritionist, health coach and former Retreat Leader at the multi award-winning wellness retreat Aro-Hā in New Zealand, Ben brings over a decade of experience investigating precision nutrition, functional training and a wide range of techniques for vibrant wellbeing to the retreat space. He designs and leads retreats at Amara, offering Synergy yoga masterclasses and holistic personalized nutrition coaching.
GUEST SERVICES MANAGER
Since 2013 Cyntia has worked producing holistic events and festivals, overseeing logistics to ensure that the client’s vision and needs are well planned and taken care of. Prior to this she worked as an educational psychologist in schools across Brazil and England for more than 20 years, and now integrates ‘mindfulness and yoga for kids’ in her practice to help facilitate and foster children’s well-being. She is also a specialist in EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). With diverse experience and knowledge, Cyntia brings her great attention to detail, good communication, listening skills and a grounded presence to support your event from beginning to end!
Leon is our resident spreadsheet ninja, house beautifier, and good vibes ambassador.
Lucius is a musician, teacher, life coach & community consultant. He studied as a family & individual therapist and got his Masters in Social Work in 2013. Since then he has spent many years traveling and exploring various intentional communities and lifestyles. His larger interest is in developing and sharing functional living systems that integrate best practices and a holistic approach. He plays music daily and often shares his instruments to teach others to play. With a welcoming smile, he offers to show volunteers and guests many of the amazing opportunities that Amara Valley has to offer.

LAURA LE GALLOU

LEGAL ADVOCATE & MENTOR
Quico is a lawyer and social activist. A committed practitioner of Buddhist meditation, he is dedicated to accompanying individuals and groups in defense of their rights and freedoms, regardless of the resources they have to exercise and/or claim them.
To this end he founded Cercles, a collaborative organization offering legal assessment and services to people and causes in the interest of equality, justice and positive social transformation.
Sharwari Tilloo & Bijlee
An educator by profession, Sharwari has worked with urban and rural schools in India to improve learning and teaching methodologies. She has a background in art and likes to see beauty in everyday things. She loves to travel and explore new cultures and foods. She is proud mother to Bijlee Beyonce.
Bijlee Beyonce loves to be around her humans, and run like the wind. She’s especially skilled at hunting rats.
Lula will be the first being to greet you at the gate of Amara. She has been in the house her whole life and knows every corner of the land better than anyone. She loves to be cuddled, rubbed and taken for a walk!
