CO-FOUNDER
Carlota AMARGÓS RUBIÓ
Carlota is a passionate and multifaceted woman who loves taking care of every aspect of Life. Being a classical violinist for more than 30 years she developed a sense for art, refinement and fine tuning that reflects in everything she does.
With more than half a decade of experience teaching yoga, running conscious events and leading ceremonies around the World, she now knows that her life mission can be completed and taken to the next level at Amara Valley. Cooking and serving delicious and nutritious food is one of her gifts and she aims to spark the curiosity for healthy vegetarian food to all those coming to try her cuisine.
CO-FOUNDER
MORGAN PALMER HUBBARD
Hailing from Aotearoa-New Zealand, Morgan’s path took him around the world, from the ashrams of Rishikesh to the alkaline sands of Burning Man, from the souks of Morocco to the jungles of Ecuador. Finally making his home for the past decade in Barcelona, he has co-founded numerous yoga and wellness projects.
He brings his experience as a retreat leader, events co-ordinator and yoga teacher to this new project, as Director and Retreat Manager. Understanding the needs of the groups coming to Amara, he looks forward to helping each one create unique, deep and rich experiences here.

ARJUN NARAYANASWAMY
A technologist and entrepreneur, Arjun loves exploring how advanced technology can help individuals and teams be their best.
He has enabled Amara Valley to blossom into being, and helps co-ordinate the high-level functioning of the project.
He is also a proud “father” to his canine baby, Bijlee Beyoncé.
VOLUNTEERS COORDINATOR & HOST
CLAUDIA VICARIO
Clàudia has been connected to spirituality from an early age and she feels in service to the community. From India to Mexico, her travels brought her to teach yoga, facilitate women’s circles and cacao ceremonies, as well as other holistic therapies and rituals. She welcomes with a big smile everyone who come to Amara and also make sure our volunteers have a wonderful experience.

JASON HADJIKYRIACOU
With a background in physics, software development, and holistic massage, Jason loves working with his hands and fixing things. Passionate about rocket stoves, and a tiny bit obsessed with efficiency, he’s also a strength training enthusiast.

SUZI JONKER
Suzi is an intuitive chef and what excites her most is combining flavours from her extended travels. She is originally from South Africa, where her passion for cooking over an open fire started. For her, the fire is a magical centrepiece for bringing people together, swapping stories and infusing food with that smoky, caramelised deliciousness.

Angie brings high level kitchen experience, the spice of her Mexican roots, a love of art in all its forms and a passion for delicious, healthy food.

Better known under his DJ Nomad moniker and the vibrant Ethereal conscious raves in Barcelona, Oscar maintains the finca in many different ways from the land to the systems. He offers musical journeys, leading production for musical events and sharing his love of sound and rhythm whenever he can, as well as offering relaxing head and facial massage.

Leon has been a key part of Amara Valley’s development since 2020. After many years managing the centre, he is now transitioning to focusing on his Udugu retreats and events, and bringing Amara’s ethos and culture to other communities in Barcelona and beyond.

Carles is our beloved neighbour from the Valley that helps the Site management team with weekly repairs, upgrades and the day-to-day fixes. He is also a very experienced Chinese doctor practicing acupuncture and reflexology.

An educator by profession, Sharwari has worked with urban and rural schools in India to improve learning and teaching methodologies. She has a background in art and likes to see beauty in everyday things. She loves to travel and explore new cultures and foods. She is proud mother to Bijlee Beyonce.
LEGAL ADVOCATE & MENTOR
QUICO SUBIRANA
Quico is a lawyer and social activist. A committed practitioner of Buddhist meditation, he is dedicated to accompanying individuals and groups in defense of their rights and freedoms, regardless of the resources they have to exercise and/or claim them.
To this end he founded Cercles, a collaborative organization offering legal assessment and services to people and causes in the interest of equality, justice and positive social transformation.

LULA
Lula was the avatar of Amara Valley. She lived on this land her whole life and knew every corner of the land better than anyone. Though her body has returned to the land, she lives on in our hearts and memories!
